Nytch

Nytch is an app targeting the $150B discount/off-price retail industry to bring them online, and starting with secondhand.

If you’ve ever wondered why you don’t find these kinds of retailers on normal e-commerce platforms like ThredUp, Shopify, eBay, etc., there are innate constraints when it comes to this industry’s business model that makes normal e-commerce infeasible. The limitations are so severe that even when retailers do engage these platforms, they often LOSE money on sales.

That’s why we created Nytch.

Being the product lead, I wear lots of hats. But I mainly work on the mobile commerce platforms and data product. A few of our achievements include:

  • Largescale partnerships with market leaders.
  • Built and launched an MVP across three states.
  • Reached $5M in GRV.
  • Built a killer team and great team culture.

We’ve partnered with Goodwill Industries, the largest thrift organization in the world, and CAPA (The California Pawnbrokers Association) to launch our MVP, and have been live for a little over a year. During this pilot period, we’ve been working with our partners and incorporating our learnings into the next generation of Nytch; a platform built by secondhand retail, for secondhand retail (launching November ’22).

This is a fun throwback to 2019 when Grant (CEO) and I first started working together. We were playing bingo.
We ran a social media marketing campaign with Goodwill Portland and had influencers post about our platform on Tik Tok and Instagram. It was an incredibly successful campaign that saw thousands of requests for hundreds of thousands of dollars of goods.
Where Nytch lies in the competitive landscape.
