About

🏠 My name is Chase. I was raised in Davis, CA, and spent my childhood summers in Santa Cruz.

πŸŽ“ I graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Public Relations. My focus was on entrepreneurship. I was a founding father of the Gamma Pi Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha my freshman year, and an avid participant in intramural sports like volleyball, basketball, flag football, badminton, ultimate frisbee, and spikeball.

πŸ“Œ I started my first company, SippyCup Trading, my freshman year. Having been heavily invested (mentally and literally) in financial securities, I started a company focused on educating retail investors. After scaling the team to two dozen members over two years, I had a small exit which has allowed me to pursue my most recent passion, Nytch.

πŸ—Ό Since 2019, I’ve been building a company called Nytch. Nytch fills the e-commerce gap for secondhand retailers. We built an MVP and have been running a pilot program with the largest secondhand organizations in the world like Goodwill. After launching our next-generation platform in Summer β€˜23, we’ve been growing revenue at ~20% MoM and are expanding in New York, Tennessee, Arizona, Washington, Ohio, and others.

In 2022, I joined a company called Cocoban. Our goal was to connect fans of brands with those brands in order to do business (brand IP licensing). I joined in June 2022, helped fill our pre-seed of $1M, built an end-to-end marketplace for brands to upload IP, and for fans to find that IP and license it. We worked with brands of all kinds, ranging from Call of Duty to Smurfs, but due to an internal issue, we had to shutter operations after a bit over a year.

πŸ“₯ I also do consulting and contract work (product, analytics/data, business development, growth, strategy, and more). Lately, I’ve been helping DApps with business management and product development needs. Previously, I was a Press Aide for the Nordic Naturals Tennis Challenger. I’ve worked in the retail tech, e-commerce, fintech, PR, SaaS, and B2B space.

🎾 I used to be a competitive tennis player. I retired upon graduating high school due to a wrist and shoulder injury (which you can see me battling in this article). In high school, I was #1 on my team and team captain for two years. Our team was undefeated in the league all four years and won our section three times. My favorite memory was being a freshman and traveling to Kentucky to compete against the best 16 schools in the country (we got last place).

πŸ—£ I love meeting new people and having interesting conversations. If you want to connect, email me at chskellison@gmail.com.
